Our Commitment to Editorial Independence

WiseIQ's editorial team operates with full independence from our commercial and partnerships team. The financial products we recommend, the scores we assign, and the rankings we publish are determined solely by our editorial methodology — not by the fees that lenders or issuers pay us. A lender cannot pay to improve its ranking, and a lender that does not pay us a commission can still appear in our top recommendations if it offers the best value to our readers.

This policy is not aspirational — it is structural. Our editorial team does not have visibility into commercial agreements, and our partnerships team does not have the ability to modify editorial scores or rankings. Any attempt to influence editorial content through commercial pressure is treated as a policy violation.

How We Research Financial Products

Every financial product reviewed on WiseIQ is evaluated through a consistent, documented methodology. Our research process includes the following steps:

1. Primary Source Verification

All APR ranges, fees, credit score requirements, and product terms are verified directly from the lender's official website or through direct lender communication. We do not rely on third-party data aggregators as our primary source. Rates are reviewed and updated monthly.

2. Scoring Against Published Criteria

Each product is scored on a 10-point scale across multiple weighted criteria including APR competitiveness, fee structure, credit score accessibility, funding speed, customer service quality, and additional features. The full scoring rubric is published on our How We Rank page.

3. Editorial Review

All product evaluations are reviewed by a senior editor before publication. Editors verify that scores are consistent with the rubric, that all data is sourced and current, and that the written analysis accurately reflects the product's strengths and limitations.

4. Regular Updates

Financial products change frequently. Our team reviews all product pages on a monthly basis and updates APR ranges, fees, and terms whenever a change is detected. Pages are timestamped with a "Last reviewed" date so readers can see when information was last verified.

What We Do Not Do

We do not allow advertisers or partners to review, approve, or modify editorial content before publication.

We do not rank products higher because they pay us a higher commission.

We do not publish sponsored content without clear disclosure.

We do not use affiliate links in editorial content without an advertiser disclosure.

We do not guarantee approval for any financial product. Match results are estimates based on typical lender criteria.
