WiseIQ is an independent, one-desk personal finance site focused on people in the 580–669 credit range — the "fair credit" zone where most finance media pretends you don't exist and most lenders quietly decline you.
The honest history
This site wasn't always good. An earlier version of WiseIQ was built the way too many affiliate sites are: hundreds of templated pages, every financial category at once, optimized for search engines instead of people. Google responded accordingly, and it deserved to. In 2026 we tore it down — deleted more than 600 pages, dropped every category we couldn't cover honestly, and rebuilt around one audience and one principle: nothing fake on the page.
We're telling you this because the lesson is the product. A site that's honest about its own failures is more likely to be honest about a loan's origination fee.
What we do now
Three things: personal loan guidance for fair and rebuilding credit (realistic APRs, real approval odds, a rate explorer with no email gate), credit building playbooks (disputes, utilization, secured products), and debt payoff strategy (the math, the scripts, the order of operations). Around 300 pages, every one reviewed in the 2026 rebuild, plus free calculators that never ask who you are.
How we make money — the complete list
WiseIQ has exactly three paid relationships: Upstart (personal loans — our main revenue; we earn when you take a loan through our link), Stock Analysis (a research tool we pay for ourselves; code WISEIQ gets you 10% off), and Coinbase (crypto; we earn on signups and our own review tells many readers not to buy crypto yet). We also sell our own PDF guides for $9–$17. That's the entire business. Every other bank, lender, and card issuer on this site pays us nothing — which is why we can tell you when one of them beats our partner.
Who writes this
WiseIQ is written and maintained by a small independent editorial operation — no content farm, no ghost-written bylines, no fabricated experts (the old site had one; we deleted it). Where we haven't personally verified something, we cite primary sources: the CFPB, the Federal Reserve, lender disclosures. When we get something wrong, tell us and we'll fix it and say so.
Our rules
- Commission never changes a ranking. Upstart appears where the math puts it — and our own pages tell 700+ scores to compare no-fee lenders that pay us nothing. Methodology here.
- No fake anything. No invented user counts, no fake urgency timers, no "3 people are viewing this" theater. If you ever spot one, it's a bug — report it.
- No email gates on information. Every guide, every calculator, every result: free, no account, no credit pull.
- Realistic numbers over pretty ones. We publish the APR you'll probably get, not the one in the ads.
